In the digital age, a photographer’s website is his/her primary marketing tool. Over the course of four weeks, under the guidance of the instructor, students will build a professional website of their portfolio work using Squarespace, a contemporary user-friendly web template preferred by many young professionals in the industry. Weekly instructor lectures will support design choices and effective business tactics, including such concepts as effective home page design, dynamic image galleries, a polished biography, contact pages and blogs. Students will also learn how their sites’ integrated search engine optimization (SEO) and analytics put their work in front of potential clients. At the end of the course, students will have the option to purchase their website/domain they’ve built through SquareSpace at a significant discount for 1 year.
To participate in this class, student must be 18 years of age or the minimum of a high school graduate (or the equivalent).
