Intro to Speedlights – Section B

Have you been thinking it’s time to purchase a speedlight and de-mystify how to work with controlled lighting? If so, this course is for you! A speedlight, more casually referred to as a flash, is a powerful tool in a photographer’s tool box. Bring your camera and speedlight to class for a full-day of active lecture and demonstration, focusing on the fundamentals of exposures modes, TTL, and bounce flash. This class is suitable for beginners.

Pre-requisites for this workshop are cameras capable of fully manual exposure (exposure time, aperture, ISO, white balance) a familiarity with manual exposure and a proprietary speedlight. Instructors will not necessarily know the quirks of every possible model available, but the functions and fundamentals are universal.

To participate in this class, student must be 18 years of age or the minimum of a high school graduate (or the equivalent).

Inspired by the mentors and professionals from whom he learned, in 2012, he began teaching workshops at his studio in Somerville, MA. In 2017, he returned to NESOP to continue following his passion for education by sharing his real world experience with the next generation of professional photographers. To see Ben’s work, go to:
